Blasts rock Patna; Over 20 injured

Patna was rocked by a series of low intencity blasts this morning. Superentendent of Police said, over 20 people have been injured. A crude bomb exploded at a platform in Patna railway station leaving one person injured. SSP Manu Maharaj told reporters in Patna that the explosion occurred at an isolated place on platform number 10.
He said that two more live bombs were recovered from the Karbighaiya end of the Patna junction which have been deactivated. He said that bomb disposal and forensic teams have reached the spot and the area was being sanitised. Four blasts took place in Gandhi Maidan in which several people were injured. 
The incident occurred just hours before BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was to address a rally in Gandhi Maidan.
The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh spoke to Bihar Chief Minister, Mr. Nitish Kumar and asked him to speedily investigate the blasts and punish the perpetrators responsible for the incident. Dr. Singh condemned the blasts and appealed to the people to maintain peace and calm.
